I came late to design. I am self-taught.
I often work alone. Sometimes I collaborate with Icelandic designer Thorunn Kristjansdottir.
I work from a storefront office in an historic theatre on
Main Street in Chatham, NY about 2.25 hours north of Manhattan. I have practiced multidiscipline, multicultural, multilingual design in the United States, Europe, and South America for more than 27 years. My expertise
is in the design of visual and verbal identities for
institutions, corporations, and sites.
My bias is to subtract, to seek simplicity by design.
I live the same way, alone, on a nearby mountain in
a house of simple proportions. I have few possessions.
I am an athlete for life. I enjoy red wine, speak four
languages, which all come in handy when I travel the world for fun and work. I am the father of two beautiful and successful children, Alexandra and Bryan, of whom
I am very proud.
I love design because it identifies, informs and drives business. It also helps people find their way.
